Dr Lee invites you to

explore contemplative Neonatology:

learning spiritual growth in the context of Newborn critical care.

Two new book recommendations!

Over the past few weeks I’ve had the privilege of advance peeks at two new releases. I highly recommend both for anyone who wants practical, compassionate, realistic guidance with personal/spiritual growth!

  1. Growing Slow by Jennifer Dukes Lee

Dallas Willard famously advised John Ortberg: “You must ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life.”   And here is a book-length guide on HOW to do this! In friendly, accessible, yet also beautifully crafted words, Jennifer invites all of us who are learning slow growth to visit her family farm.

I will confess that I read the first six chapters (generously made available early to those of us on the launch team) WAY too fast.  Which only goes to show how necessary Jennifer’s message is!

  2. Rest for the Weary: Finding Freedom from Fear in the Heart of the Father by Shay Sizer Mason

The experience of fear is very real for all of us, and yet God's fatherly heart is even more real.  Shay uses her own story of surrender to this beautiful truth as a springboard for a compassionate, detailed, practical sort of anti-self-help book! Packed with references -- Biblical, theological, and otherwise -- as well as personal application exercises, Rest for the Weary is a true gift for all of us who are growing to learn that we will never find rest or freedom on our own.
